Hi ELC Families, 

Welcome to Spring School 2020!  In combination with Mrs. Harlan’s Pre-K curriculum, I will also be posting content on the Seesaw App.  Supplemental videos will be posted throughout the week. Just as we did in the classroom, these videos will enhance Mrs. Harlan’s content and help your students build deep connections.  While content is important, I understand that the ELC also provided much needed childcare for our families. The health of our staff, students, and families is foremost; unfortunately, at this time we will remain closed until further notice.  ELC staff remain hopeful that the ELC will be able to reopen for our summer session. Although, we are finding ourselves in unusual times, with new and unusual challenges, quality education and connections have always been our goal at MES and the ELC.  We will continue to bring you and your student the best educational opportunities in a new exciting way. Happy Learning, and as always, feel free to reach me at any time!

Suggested Daily Schedule

The following is an example of the classroom schedule in the ELC, modified with Mrs. Harlan’s Pre-K content and guidelines for Spring School.  Again, this is a suggested schedule, find what works best for your family.

 

7:30- 7:45 Fine motor play, to wake up and engage the brain: books, puzzles, blocks, coloring, etc.

7:45- 8:15 Breakfast

8:15-9:00 Mrs. Harlan’s Learning Block 

9:00- 10:00 Imaginative play

10:00- 11:00 Outdoor play/ Mr. McNeal’s PE activity 

11:00- 11:30 Lunch 

11:30- 11:45 Mrs. Unruh’s activity

11:45-12:00 Reading with a buddy

12:00-2:00 Rest time/ quiet time 

2:00-2:15 Snack

2:15- 3:15    Outdoor play/  Mr. McNeal’s PE activity

3:15- 3:45 Technology time: Educational Ipad games or TV

3:45-5:00 Imagination Play

5:00-7:30 Family Time
